Company Profile
Quali Tech is a multimillion-dollar producer of more than 1,000
feed and food products for more than 40 countries. Quali Tech has
over seventy-five employees in its two manufacturing sites with over
100,000 sq ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space. Quali Tech has
prospered by becoming the premier value-added manufacturer and
customer-friendly processor in the industry.
Business Situation
Quali Tech's AS/400-based enterprise and process management
software had served the company well for over a decade, but the
company felt it needed a more robust and full-featured solution to
increase efficiency and to meet growth plans. Quali Tech selected an
ERP platform from SCT -- the leading enterprise application focused
solely on manufacturers and distributors in the process industries
such as food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, and
consumer packaged goods. The new system required a significant
platform shift for Quali Tech.
Alto's Solution
Alto recommended Microsoft SQL Server as the data engine because of
SQL Server’s reliability, scalability and low cost of ownership. To
also decrease administration and maintenance costs, Alto recommended
delivering the SCT application to the desktops using Citrix
MetaFrame. With little or no experience in Microsoft SQL Server,
Windows NT Server or Citrix MetaFrame, Quali Tech turned to Alto for
help in planning, designing and implementing a comprehensive
re-architecture of their LAN and WAN environments. In addition to
the company-wide integration of the SCT application, Alto integrated
Microsoft Exchange as the messaging platform and Windows NT Server
as the file and print server.
Business Benefit
The cost savings to Quali Tech have been
great as they have been able to run a more efficient operation
by consolidating data, producing more accurate reports and standardizing data elements
across departments. In the end, the new SCT solution has allowed
Quali Tech to fullfill their mission of providing high-quality,
value-added products to their customers
