 Medtronic

Medtronic, world leader in medical technology, does business in 120 countries worldwide and has the kind of complex computer networking problems you would expect to see in organizations of this size and geographically distributed scope. With Alto’s assistance, Medtronic designed and implemented a load-balanced Windows Terminal Server + Citrix MetaFrame server farm that supports 500 users on seven servers, with each server running four CPUs and 2 Gb of RAM.

Quali Tech

Quali Tech's AS/400-based enterprise and process management software had served the company well for over a decade, but the company felt it needed a more robust and full-featured solution to increase efficiency and to meet growth plans. Alto recommended Microsoft SQL Server as the data engine because of SQL Server’s reliability, scalability and low cost of ownership. To also decrease administration and maintenance costs, Alto recommended delivering the SCT application to the desktops using Citrix MetaFrame.

Onan

Onan Corporation, a leading producer of energy generation and conversion equipment, had significant pains. As a large corporation, application deployment was a daunting task: they had Oracle applications that were not running properly on their Sun SCO Unix workstations, and they had acquired another company and were faced with trying to communicate to remote offices over narrow bandwidth. To make things more complicated, hiring IS people to manage the remote sites was an inefficient and costly solution at best. Windows Terminal Server, in conjunction with Citrix MetaFrame was the perfect solution.
