Alto’s Solution
Alto has completed the architecture and database design and is now in the implementation stage for this very large system of applications. Alto’s design centers on the use of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 as the primary application platform and utilizes many of the major new MOSS features, including the Business Data Catalog, Records Repository and workflow, as well as features like enterprise search, document libraries, lists, calendars, alerts and e-mail integration.
Standard Operating Procedure workflows include:
- Ordering Tissues from Suppliers
- Receiving Orders
- Movement and Storage of Tissues
- Surgical Implantation of Tissues
- Adverse Reaction Investigation
- Supplier Recalls
In addition to the workflows the system leverages MOSS 2007 for user and role management, facility and storage location management, surgical procedures, supplier certifications and accreditations along with periodic audits, staff training and certification along with certification expiration and continuing education, and supplier catalog and contact relationship management. MOSS 2007 is the ideal place for hospital staff members to coordinate and collaborate as they manage the very complex and very expensive process of surgical procedures involving tissue transplants.
