NAU Country Insurance (NAU) approached Alto Consulting & Training about an intranet initiative. NAU was in the process of moving to the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 platform for its intranet needs.
Alto architected a SharePoint solution to help achieve NAU company goals:
Connect NAU employees and improve collaborative efforts.
Better manage documents and other content within the organization.
Streamline and automate, where possible, internal communication and business processes.
Alto worked closely with NAU to architect and implement an NAU branded intranet portal to connect NAU employees and provide them with improved internal communication. The focus was to assist NAU employees with
a method to access documents such as forms, requests, standards, and templates. Alto worked with NAU to implement a site hierarchy and taxonomy based on input from the NAU
sers Group members. Alto utilized site columns, content types, web forms, metadata, tagging, and appropriate library and site structure to provide the above and to make working with and accessing these documents as efficient and secure as possible. The goal was to structure this information in a usable and manageable format allowing contributors to easily maintain it going forward.
Additionally, Alto provided
NAU staff with contributor/administrator training for the employees that were responsible to managing data on the site and work with the administration of lists, search, libraries, views, editing pages, checking out documents, versioning, navigation, web parts etc. The training reduced frustration and promoted buy-in from the employees working inside the platform.
